YOU ARE SPIRIT SEED TOO

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” – 1 Peter 1:23

Read First: Matthew 1:18-21; Luke 1:26-38

As it was at the beginning for the creation of first man, Adam, so it was at the birth of the second and last Adam-man, Jesus Christ. Pronouncement preceded process. God spoke man first (And God said, let us make man – Gen. 1:26), before process of forming man occurred (Gen. 2:7). When Christ, the next generation Adam, came into the world, God, through the angel Gabriel, spoke His existence to Mary first before the holy Seed was planted in her by the Holy Spirit.

30And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 33And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end

Luke 1:30-33

The amazing thing here is that Christ was not conceived in sin, as all the descendants of the first Adam—on account of his fall. His conception was by the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:20). In other words, Christ was not a seed of fallen human flesh. His was a Spirit seed, delivered by the Holy Comforter Himself. Gabriel made sure to explain this to Mary: “The angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God” (Luke 1:35). This truth is very important to all believers, because by God’s creative law—every seed producing after its kind—all those who are born of God are also Spirit seed (John 1:12, 13). Jesus later made this truth very clear to Nicodemus. He said, “that which born of the flesh is flesh, that which is born of the Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6)

This is the greatest news ever! The first Adam produced seeds of corruption and destruction; but the second Adam produced seeds of incorruption and supernatural potential—praise the Lord! The first Adam fathered seeds subject to the power of the devil, sin and death; the second Adam fathered seeds victorious over the devil, sin, and death (1 John 3:8, 9; 1 Corinthians 15:22). The first Adam gave us soul life; but the second Adam gave abundant life to our alienated spirits (1 Corinthians 15:45; Ephesians 2:1; 4:18). And because the next generation Adam lives, never more to die, we too now live and shall reign with Him forever.
